While in Paris, we had the time and opportunity to wander through museums with our drawing pads and colored pencils, trying our hand at imitating the Masters. See if you can guess which family member drew which sketch below (clockwise from top left). [UPDATE: The answer to “who drew what” can be found in the comments section.]
This was also the perfect setting for Finn to work on a series of experimental short films involving a wooden artist’s hand, its escape from our apartment and its adventures around Paris. Please enjoy his soon-to-be-classic “Film #7: Shake Hands With Danger” — a labor of love from Finn Flackett-Levin.
I think that’s my favorite short so far. Amazing.
Finn, you’re on to something here! This shows huge potential! Your “hand” is a star. The possibility of all kinds of stories is just around the corner. Think of it—you could do a spy thriller, a love story, an adventure and all sorts of interesting short movies. For instance, the tangerine could definitely be a “sidekick” or a “girlfriend” in a story. And who knows what other objects you could bring to life with your imagination! GO FOR IT! I’m looking forward to #8 and beyond!
Also, the Lurker and I could not figure out whose art is whose. I do hope answers will follow….
xox, #1FINNY FANNY
PS The Kesselmans couldn’t have been nicer. They send their regards.
Bravo! Long live the hand!
My worst nightmare, when I was a kid, was a creepy hand that lived under my bed (only when the lights were out, though) so this movie is a welcome counterpoint to my “creepy hand” memories! Thanks, Finn! (I really liked when the hand saw the hand sculpture at the museum.)
Love to all of you.
Love it! Well done, Finn!
Finn, you have shown your huge talent here. What a delight! Keep on filming. I’ m sure your followers would love to see the hand in some future settings as well! love,Great-Aunty W.
Wow! Super work Finn!
Fantastic! Hope we’ll see the other films?
Love it!
Thanks for reminding me about the hands in the museum, Liz, that was wonderful. I also liked the hand’s escape.
As or the artwork, I think it’s Finn, Franny, Mark, Jenn’s.
Finn that is so awesome!! You should make a whole series about the hand. You are a great film maker. I am looking forward to you coming back to school.
Franny, Finn, Mark, Jenny??
Bravo Finn!! You are a wonderful filn maker!
SPOILER ALERT: The answer to “who drew what” starting in the top left and moving clockwise is: Franny, Finn, Jen, Mark. Thanks for playing!
Ha ha! When I see Jenny’s picture,I am remembering when we had to draw portraits of our characters from Freelance Players! Mine were certainly bottom of the barrel but I won’t speak for Jenny!
Finn- Fabulous short! You are so talented and I look forward to watching many more!!
Great, Finn. Also great catching up with you guys. Love, Joe
