Listen, don’t get us wrong. We love getting the opportunity to visit the sites of natural disasters and being inspired by the people who live there, and we love learning about Maori culture first hand. But every now and then, we also just enjoy having a little old-fashioned fun. So in Queenstown, in the space of a single day, we hurtled down a steep mountain on luges, we rode a hundred year-old steamship across gorgeous Lake Wakatipu, and we hiked through some of the most breathtaking scenery you could possibly imagine (some of which were actual locations from the Lord Of The Rings). Oh, and we also gave Finn his first editing lesson. The kid might have fallen a little bit in love with Final Cut’s “scrapbook” plug-in — but he also really captured the magic of this awesome early Spring day on the south island of New Zealand. Enjoy! Wow, that looked really fun. Fantastic editing job Finn. Very cool work.
This one really got to me. Not just a year to think, but one to get high!
Robin,
Dearie, what are you insinuating? This is a family vacation!
Oh. “High” on Life, right? “High” on a hill, yes? I get it.
Sorry—just havlng a 60’s Flashback in my 60’s,

As Great Bubs would say….Wow Zuck!! What an adventure, and what fabulous editing Finn. I think the Luge company can hire you. I want to go there.! I am so happy to see all of you having so much fun. Jen, I like you in that helmut!
What a day! A perfect blend of thrill-seeking and scenic beauty! Magnificent. The only other scenery I saw today involved the trip taking the garbage cans to the curb. On foot, I passed by a hedge and a small bush. Then, quite by surprise, I encountered the neighbor’s dog peeing on our grass. My heart almost skipped a beat!
Yes, Finn’s FIRST FILM as an editor…well, it made me appreciate The Ken Burn’s Effect! Good work kid. Keep at it. I am looking forward to your next…

Truly spectacular! Great work, Finn.
What a great film…excellent editing skills! As Finn’s cousin Abe could tell him, you can’t start this work too early! If only Final Cut Pro has existed when Abe was a kid….
Jen, seeing you on the Luge brought back a funny memory of the old-fashioned Forman family home movies of Great Bubs, your mom, aunt Joey and me on the toboggans at the Concord Hotel on a winter vacation. Of course we were all outfitted in those bulky 1950’s snow suits but it was a big thrill. Of course, that is what passed for extreme sports according to the Formans. Now if Zayda had only had access to the current digital film technology…oh my, it boggles the mind!
SO beautiful out there!
