From the moment we arrived in Bangkok, the guy behind the desk where we were staying asked “Are you going to see the Thai Boxing?” Frankly, we hadn’t even considered it. But on a balmy night, Mark headed off alone in a cab carrying a bag filled with way too much camera equipment to capture this unique sporting event. The fighters are barefoot, some of them can’t be older than twelve, the fans are drunk, sweaty and rowdy, the lights are bright, and the music on the soundtrack is vintage Beatles.
This is part of the world too. Thanks for showing many sides.

Thank you for your version of “Raging Thai”.
Isn’t Thai boxing mostly about giving people the opportunity to engage in “betting”…while watching the event becomes boring after a very short time…kind of like watching porno (I’ve been told).
I guess when it comes to “easily missed” attractions, you could add this to the list that includes that dancing fountain in Lima!
When T. and I first visited Bangkok, we were told that the three “must see” things we needed to do were: Thai boxing, the central market and the girly bars. We ended up seeing two out of the three.

Help!!! Heart-breaking.
I know one thing I’m not doing when I go there. Thanks.
In actuality, we would recommend the experience just for a glimpse into this window of the culture. It is more interesting that the Royal Palace which we also visited that day, but far less interesting than the Jim Thompson house which is our favorite place to visit in Bangkok.
Disturbing at best. And I thought I needed a vodka to get through my 16 year olds wrestling tournaments! This adds an entirely new perspective. Gratitude abounds.
Beautifully shot, and love the music choice.
Nice Video!
I like it.
In this video there are two boys are good fighting together
